Sauvignon blanc Südsteiermark DAC 2025

In the glass, this Sauvignon Blanc displays a radiant, pale yellow color with fresh, lively highlights that underscore its youth and clarity. The bouquet is clear and straightforward, with pronounced green notes of fresh grass and meadow herbs. These are joined by aromas of black currants, crisp gooseberries, and a hint of kiwi. The aromatics are cool, precise, and focused—classically Styrian, purist, and characterized by great freshness. The typical South Styrian spiciness defines the flavor profile, accompanied by fresh green notes and, once again, prominent cassis aromas. The lively, well-integrated acidity provides freshness and structure; the wine appears juicy, precise, and balanced. A dry, lively finish underscores the variety’s typical character.

Year & vinification

Year:
The winter was dry and unusually mild, allowing the vines to bud harmoniously in mid-April. Thanks to the high elevation of our vineyards, there was no frost damage, and flowering proceeded exceptionally well under ideal weather conditions in May and June. The summer then turned out to be extremely dry and hot, resulting in small, highly concentrated berries. The early start to the harvest on September 1st yielded exceptional quality—wines with delicate fruit, slightly lower alcohol content, and a wonderfully lively acidity.

Vinification:
8 months on the fine lees in a stainless steel tank
