Morillon Ried Oberglanzberg Südsteiermark DAC 2024 Magnum

In the glass, the Morillon appears as a clear, sparkling white gold with high viscosity. The inviting bouquet offers aromas of crisp white chocolate with bourbon vanilla, a hint of honeydew melon, and dried hay flowers. The nose is complex, warm, and very harmonious. On the palate, aromas of fresh baguette, honeydew melon, and fine cocoa butter unfold. This Morillon single-vineyard wine is full-bodied and creamy, supported by a dense, delicately spiced texture. Aging in large wooden barrels enhances the wine with elegant vanilla aromas without overshadowing the fruit. The fruitiness and spice linger long and pleasantly on the finish. A great single-vineyard Morillon with depth, elegance, and excellent aging potential.

Year:
A virtually snow-free and warm winter led to very early budbreak. Despite a severe cold snap in mid-April, the vines remained frost-free thanks to their high vineyard locations. A cool early summer with ample rainfall during flowering, followed by a dry, hot summer, meant that the harvest began as early as the end of August. The result is fantastic grapes with a balanced sugar-acid ratio.

Vinification:
Aged and matured for 15 months on the fine lees in large used wooden barrels
