Roter Muskateller Steiermark 2025 Magnum

In the glass, this South Styrian specialty presents itself this year in a pale straw-yellow hue with a delicate sheen that visually reflects its elegance and lightness. On the nose, the Rote Muskateller unfolds a fragrant, playful bouquet of fresh rose petals, red apple, and juicy mandarin, subtly underscored by a hint of nutmeg. The aromas are charming and inviting, yet clear and balanced—intense in expression, yet never overpowering. On the palate, the wine is dry and juicy, supported by an elegant, finely integrated acidity. Its medium body lends the wine substance, while its creamy texture provides softness without masking the freshness. Subtle spice accompanies the harmonious finish, harmoniously rounding out the flavor profile.

Year & vinification

Year:
The winter was dry and unusually mild, allowing the vines to bud harmoniously in mid-April. Thanks to the high elevation of our vineyards, there was no frost damage, and flowering proceeded exceptionally well under ideal weather conditions in May and June. The summer then turned out to be extremely dry and hot, resulting in small, highly concentrated berries. The early start to the harvest on September 1st yielded exceptional quality—wines with delicate fruit, slightly lower alcohol content, and a wonderfully lively acidity.

Vinification:
8 months on the lees in a stainless steel tank
