Sauvignon blanc Ried Lubekogel Südsteiermark DAC 2020 Magnum

In the glass, the wine displays a brilliant golden-yellow color with high viscosity. The nose is dominated by distinctive aromas of blackcurrant (cassis) and green bell pepper, which give the bouquet a clear, varietal character. On the palate, it is fruity and juicy with nuances of ripe nectarines and gooseberries, underpinned by mineral depth. Full-bodied and spicy, supported by a delicate texture, the wine leads to a refined finish in which spicy cassis notes and delicate vanilla aromas linger harmoniously. A refined, sophisticated wine with substance and elegance.

Year & vinification

Year:
The winter months through March were mild and snow-free, with a significant precipitation deficit. Although cold nights from late March through early April temporarily slowed vine growth, budbreak occurred on schedule without any damage. A cool May delayed flowering until early June. The summer was changeable, with sufficient thunderstorm rainfall and hotter spells in August. The harvest began in early September and lasted into October. The grapes were harvested under optimal conditions and promise harmonious, fruit-forward wines. Initial tastings confirm the high quality of the 2020 vintage as a continuation of successful previous years.

Vinification:
Aged on the fine lees for 15 months in large wooden barrels and matured
